What I'm loving on Etsy
Etsy is one of my go-to sites to find something truly unique, but also a great place to browse for inspiration (I could get lost for hours if I had the time). When you shop on Etsy, you are supporting someone's small, yet possibly very successful business. I tend to buy a lot of gifts from Etsy but also love to shop for things to add to my home such as pillow covers, art and objects for a vignette. I also love to shop for vintage tops (more on that another day). So, for today, I'm sharing my latest favorites for home, gifts and more.
There are so many amazing artists on Etsy that offer prints of their original paintings. Most are printed on high quality paper using archival techniques to ensure your print lasts a very long time. I'm a sucker for some good abstract art and there is an abundance of it available. I own this piece and hope to add this one at some point. An added bonus on Etsy is that you can learn about the artist in their profile. To me, this is a selling point. You feel like you know a little bit about the person who's art is hanging in your home. For instance, the artist whose prints I mention above, Patricia Vargas, has been painting since she was 10. You certainly would not have that information (or quality) buying a print from Homegoods (although I do enjoy a good run through at that store!). To learn more about Patricia and Prima Creative Studio, visit her page.
Alright, on to some gift ideas. With Father's Day coming up, I think this vintage brass fish would make a lovely gift for the fisherman in your life. It could house their wedding ring, spare change or used as a simple decor piece on a nightstand. This vintage milk glass bowl would be the perfect hostess gift. These earrings are ideal for your best friend's birthday. I'm really digging this shop....this watermelon felt planter would make a thoughtful Mother's Day gift along with a fresh succulent. With summer coming, it would look really cute on a windowsill. My mom collects any and all Blue Willow china. This pillow cover would be a foolproof gift just to brighten her day.
Okay, time to talk about things that are on my radar for, well, me of course! These lucite curtain rods would take my dining room to a whole new level. That is, when I find curtains. They are luxurious and expensive but I'm certain I would never get bored with them. I love this "marble" MacBook skin. Why not have a fancy cover on your MacBook? After all, I have this cover on my iPhone. This copper garment rack is so over the top but if I had any spare room in my closet, you bet your ass it would be the first thing I would buy. I see it working really great in a large entry way in a industrial studio apartment. These tees are calling my name for me and my daughter, because let's face it, I grew up with the song (and if you know me, I like to have fun). If you're a mom, having these notepads are so handy instead of writing a teacher note on a piece of scrap paper, like I often do! And lastly, who doesn't need a good reminder to keep things light. What are your favs on Etsy? Please share!
Enjoy your weekend friends!
