Cool and Casual

And I'm back! It feels like ages since I sat down and blogged. I'm happy to report that I'm back in business with an iMac. There is something about sitting down at a desk with a large screen and a keyboard that I crave. Instead of sitting slouched over a laptop on my couch, I'm actually sitting at a desk. The whole MacBook situation got me thinking about creating my own little office space. So, I did just that. I rearranged a corner of our bedroom and boom, Katie's office. I'm still lacking a great chair (right now I'm sitting on a stool), so if you have any ideas, send them my way. I will share pictures when the space is completed.

It's officially fall! I'm certainly not complaining about the warm weather we've been having in Boston but I'm ready for some jeans, sweaters, boots and forgiving clothing. When the cool weather hits, I like to keep it simple, casual and cozy.  Here are a couple effortless looks for fall activities.

First up, casual date night. Comfy leggings for the pasta you're bound to indulge on, a cold shoulder top (still trending), booties, a simple cross body bag, a fun scarf to play up Halloween and the perfect pair of earrings. Don't forget a great lipgloss! The only thing you'll need to decide on is where to eat.

If you're going apple picking this fall, be sure to look cute for all those pictures you'll be looking at for years to come. A comfy sweater is a must and the color of the one below is perfect. Add some skinny distressed jeans, flat booties, a sleek and simple necklace and a large tote for the two dozen cider donuts you'll be taking home (you do that too, don't you?).  Since the sweater is quite baggy, I recommend tucking it in (just like the sweater image), just a little, in the front of the jeans. Add a timeless belt to finish the look.
